Kernel Fabyan's To Raise Money for JDRF at Grand Opening
October 9, 2007 Geneva, IL - Kernel Fabyan's Gourmet Popcorn Shoppe will celebrate the Grand Opening of its new location in Naperville by raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
The fundraising will begin on Monday November 5, 2007 and run through Sunday, November 11. Kernel Fabyan's will donate 10% of all proceeds to JDRF. People are invited to come by and celebrate by sampling any of Kernel Fabyan's popcorn flavors. The Grand Opening Celebration will include a ribbon cutting ceremony with Naperville Mayor George Pradel on Thursday November 8, 2007 at 3:00pm.
According to JDRF, every hour of every day, someone is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, the most severe form of the disease. Usually striking before the age of 30, type 1 diabetes takes a harsh toll on people. Not only will they be insulin-dependent for life, but devastating life-limiting and life-shortening complications such as blindness, amputation, heart disease and stroke, and kidney failure are an ever-present threat.
Kernel Fabyan's Gourmet Popcorn Shoppe opened its first location on Geneva's historic Third Street six years ago. This family-owned and operated popcorn shoppe gives customers a small town feeling and delicious gourmet popcorn. With a huge following in Geneva, the owners decided to expand into another historic downtown, Naperville. The new shoppe is located on the southeast corner of Washington Street and Chicago Avenue.
